Get EMEET AirFlow Earbuds

Open-ear earbuds aren’t anything new, but having a detachable mic for even clearer calls is a welcome addition to the market. The EMEET AirFlow Earbuds recently introduced this new design, promising a lightweight, ergonomic experience, paired with excellent sound. I had the opportunity to test out these claims for myself.

Unique Design, Weightless Feel

My first thought when I saw the EMEET AirFlow Earbuds had a detachable mic was, “these are going to feel heavy.” In cases like this, I love being proven wrong. I honestly didn’t notice any weight difference with the tiny stick-like microphone attached.

What I really love is that you’re able to attach the mic to either earbud. Or, just leave it off completely if you just want to listen to music, podcasts, or whatever else without taking calls.

Impressive Features

Before I dive into how well these earbuds perform, let’s take a quick look at the features, which are impressive all on their own.

  • Open-ear design with each earbud weighing just 8.5g
  • Skin-friendly coating
  • Ergonomic design
  • Stabilizer fins (removable) for a more secure fit
  • VoiceCore noise cancellation algorithm, offering dual-channel noise cancellation up to 50dB
  • Built-in mics on each earbud
  • HyperBass Boost algorithm
  • 16.2mm dynamic driver
  • 8-hour playtime and up to 40 hours with charging case
  • Built-in UV sterilization (up to 99.9%) inside case
  • IPX5 waterproof

The EMEET AirFlow Earbuds are also extremely well packaged and were about 50% charged when I received them, so I could start testing immediately. Naturally, they also came with the case, along with stabilizer fins, charging cable, USB Bluetooth dongle, carrying bag, and instruction manual.

Superior Call Quality

While most earbuds let you take calls, you either have to use just one or end up with a weird echo effect. Thanks to EMEET’s open-ear fit, I didn’t have any echo. Plus, I could still easily hear what was going on around me.

I attached the mic, which is easy to do. I like that there’s a small button on the mic itself to mute it whenever I need to. Of course, I didn’t need to attach the mic to make/receive calls, but I found that people could hear me more clearly with the detachable mic.

Speaking of clear, I’ve tried quite a few headsets over the years and these earbuds offered some of the clearest call quality I’ve ever experienced. Even when standing next to a soundbar, the other person couldn’t hear it. So, the noise cancellation is definitely a winner here.

Great Overall Sound

Beyond making calls, the EMEET AirFlow Earbuds offer great sound. I was a little disappointed with the bass. It feels slightly dulled. I even tried the EMEET TUNE app, the companion app, to change the audio settings.

The app itself works wonderfully, and you can even create your own unique sound profiles. I did get better sound and bass by switching between different profiles, but I wouldn’t rely on these for any hard-hitting bass in your favorite rock and pop songs.

I listen to a lot of rock, including everything from Foreigner to Shinedown, so I like that extra bit of bass boost. But I couldn’t ask for more when it comes to immersing myself in epic guitar solos and riffs.

Everything else sounds wonderful – clear sound and no bleedthrough. I’ve had some open-ear earbuds where anyone sitting close could hear what I was listening to. The AirFlow earbuds do an incredible job of keeping your music, and even calls, much more private.

Custom Fit for Longer Wear

It took a while for me to get these earbuds to fit just right. However, the silicone coating and internal titanium wire make it easier to customize the fit while feeling good against your skin.

At first, they were way too tight and pinched, which also made them difficult to even put on. After some adjustments, I finally found that perfect fit, but they still slid a little.

The stabilizer fins completely change the feel of the EMEET AirFlow Earbuds. They’re comfortable, slide onto the earbuds securely, and prevent any slippage. Walk, run, exercise, whatever you want to do – they stay put. In fact, these felt more secure than most earbuds I’ve used.

Plus, with the stabilizers, you don’t get the same rubbing movement you’d usually get, so you’re free to wear them longer without discomfort.

Long-lasting Battery Life

It took several hours to fully charge the earbuds and case. But, you can get an hour of use from just a quick five-minute charge, so that’s a nice perk.

I was able to listen to music for almost seven hours before I had to put the earbuds back in the case to charge. And that’s with using the touch controls rather often to skip songs, adjust volume, and pause when I needed to.

I used these for about five days before I had to charge the case again, so needing to frequently charge was not a concern.

It’s also nice that the earbuds snap securely in place and won’t fall out, even if you turn the open case upside down. They even fit well with the fins attached.

Bonus Feature – UV Sterilization

Something I wasn’t expecting was the UV sterilization. Let’s face it: earbuds get dirty. But how often do we really think about sanitizing them? With the AirFlow earbuds, it’s as easy as pushing a button.

First of all, the case must have at least a 20% charge on it or be connected to a power source with the USB cable before you can sanitize it. You also need at least one earbud in the case, and the case must be closed. Obviously, you don’t want to stare at UV light.

When the case itself is charging, the UV sterilization will turn on automatically and run a cycle. A purple blinking light shows when sterilization is occurring. When the light flashes green and turns off, it’s done.

To do it manually, close the case, hold the UV sterilization button on the case for a few seconds, and wait for the process to complete.

Quality Earbuds at an Affordable Price

The EMEET AirFlow Earbuds are unique with UV sterilization and a detachable mic. But, superior call quality and good overall audio make them a perfect addition to your daily routine. Not to mention, they’re surprisingly comfortable once you get them adjusted. Yes, better bass would be nice, but that’s my only major complaint.

Try the EMEET AirFlow Earbuds yourself for just $179.99.
