Google Search Set to Add More AI

Spread the love

It can’t be said enough: artificial intelligence (AI) is inundating the tech world, and at a quick pace. Google Search is the most recent entity to dip their toe into the AI waters.

AI Overviews to Provide Quick Information

It’s hard to remember a time when we couldn’t turn to the Internet to answer all our questions. Google Search can answer everything for us – on demand. But answers aren’t always quick. Sometimes you have to open several web pages to find what you’re looking for.

AI Overviews aims to change all that. It’s one of the more important AI features that Google will be adding to Search. Search Labs has already conducted an experiment with AI Overviews that proved to be popular, but now it’s rolling out to users in the U.S., with expectations of expanding soon.

Customize the answers you get in Google’s AI Overview by simplifying the language or getting more detail. You may just want a little information, or you may want the full background. It’s up to you.

The Gemini model provides multi-step reasoning capabilities to AI Overviews. Instead of having to do repeated searches to find all the information you need, AI Overviews will allow you to get all the information in one search.

Make Your Plans Through Google Search

More than just looking up ingredients or specific recipes, you can now use Google Search to help you plan. You can ask it to devise a multi-day meal plan for a certain number of people and specify that you’re looking for easy recipes. While Google Search won’t provide you with the full plan, it will provide you with several recipes to get started.

You can also follow the same method to create travel plans, by naming your location, dates, etc. Eventually, the planning option will expand to workouts, parties, and date nights.

Along with AI Overviews and planning, Search will also allow you to create a results page that allows you to brainstorm and ask questions while providing a video. With all of this AI help, Google is on its way to providing quicker, better answers in Search.
