Prepare for Prime Day
If you have a couple of things you want to get your hands on during Prime Day, it is best to start preparing early. First and foremost, sign up for an Amazon Prime account if you don’t have one.
You can do this by heading to the Amazon Prime webpage and entering the required information. If this is your first time signing up for Prime, you can also enjoy a 30-day free trial as well, by clicking on the Start your 30-day free trial button.
We also recommend creating a budget. Events like Prime Day can make it easy to get carried away with all the deals and discounts, so having a clear budget in mind helps keep your spending in check.
Creating a wishlist is another smart move. You can save the items you would like to keep track of by clicking on the Add to list button for the products you like. Once Prime Day is underway, visit your list to see if any of your desired items are on sale, then jump on the deals before they sell out.
It is also worth noting that Amazon typically releases early deals and pre-sales a few days before Prime Day for Prime members. Keep an eye on the best early Prime Day deals by signing up for the Amazon newsletter.
Use a Price-Tracking Tool
Even during sales events, you should make sure that the deal you’re eyeing is genuinely the lowest price. This can be a bit challenging, but using a price-tracking tool can make it much easier.
There are several free online tools you can consider using, such as CamelCamelCamel, Keepa, and Honey. You can install a browser extension for whichever tool you are using, and it will allow you to track the historical prices of items. Compare the data to decide whether the current deal is as good as it seems.

Follow Influencers and Deal Websites
Events like Prime Day can get confusing with all the deals and discounts in almost every category. You want to grab the best deals, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of offers. That’s where influencers and deal websites can help.
We recommend following popular influencers who specialize in deal hunting on various platforms (Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter). You can go through their past content to see how they cover major sales events like Prime Day. We also suggest subscribing to newsletters from these platforms to stay informed about early access deals, price drops, and limited-time offers.

Sign Up for Invite-Only Deals
Prime Day is more than the deals you see on the main page. Several retailers and brands offer exclusive discounts to customers through invites.
To get access to these, head to the Deals page on Amazon, and scroll down to find an Invite Only deal. Click on the product to view the details, then click on the Request invite button. You will receive an email confirming your request. Do this for as many products as you would like.
It is important to note that not all deals are granted. If you receive an invite, you will get an email and a message on your Amazon account. You can only purchase one item through the invite and typically have until the end of the sale period to complete your purchase.
Set Up Alert Notifications
You also have the option to set up alert notifications for deals that you don’t want to miss out on. To do this, search for “Deals alerts” on Amazon. Select Deal Alerts -> Create alert. You can only create alerts for the deals that are either recommended by Amazon or that you have recently viewed.
While you are at it, we also recommend ensuring your notifications are enabled. For this, click on the menu icon (three bars) in the bottom tab, and select Settings -> Notifications -> Deals and recommendations. Enable all the options in the following window to get timely notifications on the latest deals, offers, and new releases.
Check Other Retailers
Amazon is not the only retailer offering major discounts in July. Many other popular stores come up with their own sales during the same time.
Look for sales at stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and Newegg during Prime Day. There is a good chance you will find significant discounts across a wide range of categories, from electronics and home appliances to fashion and outdoor gear.
