Franz: Access 14 Messenger Services All in One Place

Spread the love

There are a plethora of messaging platforms to keep up with these days and while most of these messengers provide dedicated apps as well as a web version, it can become very tedious to jump from app to app just to catch up on your conversations.

Franz Messenger aims to solve this problem by bundling fourteen major messaging services into one app. This can help clear out the clutter in your web browser and keep all chatting activities in one location.

Included in the package are popular options like WhatsApp, Slack, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Google Hangouts and Skype with the promise of more to come. Franz is also cross-platform, meaning you can enjoy its goodies regardless of your OS of choice (Windows, OS X and Linux).

Let’s take a quick look at how you can get up and running with Franz on Linux.

Installation

Setting up Franz Messenger on your Linux machine is very easy. Just follow the steps below:

1. Visit the Franz website download page to download the package.

2. Once you have it downloaded, extract the downloaded package to a folder in your Home directory.

3. Open the extracted package, find the executable Franz icon, right-click on it and click “Run” or “Execute” depending on your File Manager.

The Franz app should now open, and you can begin to configure your favourite services.

Setting things up

Setting up your preferred messaging services with Franz is really simple. All you need to do is choose your favourite services from the list and enter any relevant details that are required. You can also choose whether to receive notifications or mute all sounds.

Once you click the “Add” button, it will setup a new tab for you, and you can switch to it to sign into your chosen app.

Once you submit your login details, Franz will load up the web version of the app, and you can start using it right away.

You can add as many apps as you like; it’s all free and easily configurable. It will create a separate tab for each app you set up, and you can easily switch between apps and chat away.
