The art-direction review
The review that separates premium from pretty: ten questions about intent, restraint and honesty — the same checklist, applied to a page instead of a prompt.

revised 2026-09-14 — First publication in the bank-5 premium masterclass.
— Ten questions separate premium from pretty; each is answerable in one sentence about intent.
— The register questions (serif voice, hairline, tabular figures) are checkable at a glance.
— Honesty is part of the art direction: a demo that labels its data reads as more premium, not less.
Ten questions
One: what is the single message, and does every section serve it? Two: how many accents are visible — is it one? Three: does the display voice stay in serif and the data in mono? Four: are the figures tabular and aligned? Five: how many elements could be deleted without losing the message — delete one. Six: does the spacing follow one rail? Seven: does the empty space read as deliberate or as unfinished? Eight: do the interactive states — hover, focus, pressed — feel like the same brand? Nine: does reduced motion show the same content, still? Ten: does every demo figure wear its 'illustrative' label?
The review is the craft
None of the ten questions need a mood board or a budget. They are the discipline the masterclass has been building: restraint as a rule, typography as a system, honesty as part of the register. A page that answers all ten has stopped trying to look premium — it just is.
