An art director does not describe everything. They make five decisions and hold them.
Decision one: density. Is the page quiet or packed? Choose one and enforce it with spacing.
Decision two: contrast. Dark on light, light on dark, or low-contrast editorial. Mixing all three is what makes a page feel assembled.
Decision three: the accent budget. One color gets to be loud. Everything else supports it.
Decision four: the type relationship. Display and body should disagree on weight, width, or tone — not all three.
Decision five: the motion temperature. Calm, springy, or cinematic. Pick one and repeat it everywhere.
Write those five into a short system block at the top of your prompt, then describe the section. Models follow constraints far more reliably than adjectives.
When an output misses, do not add more words. Remove a decision and restate it more sharply.
